A home daycare is the next best thing to your own home. Children feel much more comfortable in a home based environment than in an institutional center. Plus, the majority of the family home daycare providers care for small groups of children. This allows the children to receive lots of personal care and one on one attention. In addition, children bond well in a small group as they are together for many years under the same care giver. This bonding enhances their social interaction, eliminating the chance of any child being left alone, teased, or bullied.
Once an infant is enrolled in a home daycare, he/she can stay there with the same provider till he/she is ready to join kindergarten. Therefore, the child is provided with lots of consistency, and parents do not have to worry about the
constant turnover of teachers or the child being bumped from one classroom to another. Also, the majority of family home daycares run a year round program with minimal public holidays. This saves parents from the anxiety of finding a babysitter or having to plan their vacation along with their child’s holidays.
Furthermore, a home daycare allows children to build up their immunity during social interaction. A child’s health is much more at risk in a commercial preschool due to the amount of germs being passed around by numerous
children and teachers. In a home day care, the small group of children and consistent care provider poses a much smaller risk to your child’s health.
Finally, most of the daycare providers are qualified either in early childhood or are Montessori certified. They are able to provide quality care with similar educational program as other preschools and Montessori schools at a fraction of
the price!
